Worshipping the God Pithora Baba along with its rich, vibrant culture and folklore from the state of central Gujrat is ‘PITHORA PAINTING’ a wall painting that depicts the narratives of tribal life.

Gujrat and its many remote areas are a hub to different tribal, folk or traditional arts and crafts for ages. Wall paintings being one of it the art of Pithora painting is practised in central Gujrat as well in parts of Madhya Pradesh.

‘PITHORA’ is the god of tribals of chhotaudepur district of Gujarat and the people of Rathwa, Bhil, Bhilala tribe living in jabua, jobat and aliraipur districts of Madhya Pradesh. The painting is traditionally done on walls during, festivals, weddings, at times if there is a sickness in the house, for better yields, cattle’s, also to conceive a child. The Paintings are filled with rich imagery and creativity portraying different forms of nature, tribal scenes of farming and a lot more, which indeed is a visual treat for the eyes.
